Wonderful large 17th-century folio sheet copper engraved map. Original full hand color.
In VG+ to near fine clean condition, some minor light offsetting as typical due to the green used, but still, overall a very pleasing visual example. Heavy paper has been weakened a bit in places due to the "verdigris" effect, but carefully repaired with archival tape in these spots and of absolutely no consequence once framed since it is invisible.
A scarce map with a fine decorative quality, including a large title cartouche with cherubs and figures in native dress, lambs, etc.
Sheet measures 24" x 20 1/2." Image area measures 21" x 17 1/4."
