A mid-18th century engraved map of this Caribbean Island w/ original color in outline. We see towns denoted by tiny Cathedral symbols, topography and travel routes between the cities. We see Mount-Pelée, "Morne de la Calebasse" and "Pitons du Carbet" - now extinct volcanoes. Island is situated in the North Sea; distance scale at top center.
In near fine clean condition w/ original outline hand color. Very minor, gentle extraneous folds to the corners; original fold line as issued.
Sheet measures c. 11 7/8" x 9". Image area measures c. 11" x 8 3/4".
