A lovely late 18th century steel engraved map with expert hand color. We see the United States in the north with Florida encompassing east of the Mississippi and a huge Texas; all of Central America is "New Spain" and South America is "New Grenada." Caribbean Islands at center w/ rhumb lines. Shallow coastal waters stippled.
In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition, fold lines as issued. A very scarce 18th century map of the West Indies and surrounding coast lands.
Sheet measures c. 10" x 8 1/2." Image area measures c. 9 3/4" x 7 1/4."
