A scarce mid-19th century canvas backed wall map of the state of New Hampshire. Typical condition, showing some crackling and wear, but overall still very presentable and appealing. Pretty nice actually, with out the stains and tears often seen on wall maps. Also, a nice compact size, not the massive size of 5 and 6 feet often seen. With the original rollers at top and bottom. Insets in the 4 corners depict views of Manchester, Concord State House, Nashua and the Portsmouth Naval Yard. Text at right shows the Statistics of New Hampshire by county.
Map measures c. 3' H (3 feet) x 2' 2".
A scarce map which we recently saw offered by a famous NYC map dealer for well over $1500.
