Times of India - 1891
An interesting and scarce late 19th century daily newspaper from Bombay India. Mostly clean with only the minor age-wear and a few trivial tears in the margins. Minor soiling down the vertical crease on the front page but the text is quite well-preserved and paper is bright throughout. This daily newspaper, in six text columns, contains all sorts of news from India, including obituaries, telegrams and great wood-cut illustrated period advertisements - all the articles expected from a modern-day New York Times. Perhaps of most interest are the extensive listings of Shipping Notices, all sorts of shipping vessels sailing to and fro each day. Overall, an engrossing and well-preserved snatch of India's late 19th century history from the perspective of one day. Measures c. 24 3/4" H x 18 1/2" W, unopened. 8pp. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
