A most attractive 18th century map of the island of Nova Zembla off the northern coast of Russia. This nice 18th century map shows the island in great detail including mountains and rivers as well as a number of place names. Two compasses with radiating rhumb lines impart a nice nautical feel.
Very attractive and will look nice once displayed. In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition, with original fold lines, as issued. With expert, beautiful hand coloring. Sheet measures 15 " W x 10 1/4 " H, image measures 13 5/8 " W x 8 1/4 " H.
