"Suite de la Coste de Guinee," issued 1747, Paris, by Bellin. A very attractive folio sheet 18th century map of the western coast of Africa, centered around the Gulf of Guinea. Gives the details of the major African Kingdoms as they existed at that date, known to the French cartographer J.N. Bellin.
Also includes such details as small islands, rivers, settlements or villages, etc. A nice large title cartouche at top left and a compass rose at bottom right with a fleur de lys and rhumb lines. A very attractive engraved map and one which will look nice once displayed.
In VG+ to near excellent, clean antiquarian condition. With expert, beautiful full hand coloring- very pleasing visually. Sheet measures c.14 1/8" W x 9 1/4" H; engraved image measures c. 10 5/8" W x 8" H.
