A finely rendered late 17th century map of Southern Africa. The Mountains of the Moon, a mythical mountain range, can be seen at upper right, here labeled "M. de la Lune." A lovely scroll cartouche is at lower right.
In VG+ to excellent antiquarian condition. Original fold line as issued. With beautiful hand color. Sheet measures c. 6 1/4"h. x 6" w. Image measures c. 4" h. x 5" w.
A lovely clean example of this delightful and scarce 17th century map.
