A beautiful mid 18th century map of the West Coast of Africa from the Straits of Gibraltar to middle coast of what is now Guinea. It also shows the Cape Verde and Canary Islands. With many place names, it shows the territories of the indigenous peoples, including the "Sanhaga" and the "Mandinga." An fine compass rose at upper left. The uncommon Dutch version, with both French and Dutch texts. In VG+ to excellent antiquarian condition. Original fold lines as issued. With beautiful full hand color.
