The Kingdom of Naples existed under Angevin house rule from 1268-1435 while Sicily remained under Aragonese rule. The Kingdom of Naples, as depicted in the map, was composed of Italy south of the Papal States. During the time that this map was made (c.1820), there was a revolt by the Kingdom to secede from the Sicilian Kingdom which was formed in 1806, but this revolt was subdued by Austrian forces. The map shows a high level of detail in naming major cities, rivers, mountains, and lakes. In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition. With wonderful hand color. Sheet measures c.10 1/4 " W x 13 " H, image area measures c.9 1/8 " W x 11 1/8 " H. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
