An attractive 18th century engraving depicting the King of Congo surrounded by a number of his flunkies. European fascination with the Congo first began with the Portuguese, who discovered the African region in the year 1486. Note the ornate rendition and European style of the chandelier. In VG+ to near excellent
condition. Sheet measures c. 9 1/4" W x 14 1/8" H, image measures
71/4" W x 10 1/2" H.
