A finely rendered 18th century outline map of the coast of West Africa. With many place names, mountains, and the the names tribal groups along the coast. An ornate and exquisite scroll cartouche encloses the title at center left, with a compass rose above it.
In VG+ antiquarian condition, a couple of light stains at upper margins. Original fold line as issued. With beautiful hand color. Sheet measures c. 10 1/4"h. x 12 1/4" w. Image measures c. 9 1/4" h. x 10 3/8" w.
