Note: to view one of 3 available close-ups, click on the area you wish to see. "Roving Frame, Plate 1st," "Roving Frame termed Double Speeder," "Drawing Frame," "Water Spinning Frame," "Throstle Spinning Frame, "Calico Printing," "Mule Spinning," "Sections of one of Mess.rs Stutt's Cotton Mills at Belper in Derbyshire," "Double Machine" and "Twisting Machine," "Reeling" "Carding," "Roving Can Frame," "Deviling," and "Batting Machine," issued 1808-1814, London, engraved by W. Lowry. A fascinating and obviously uncommon 19th century group of 14 steel engravings pertaining to the study of Cotton Manufactury. Each sheet shows a number of scientific-looking apparatuses, accompanied by titles and in some cases descriptions, that are quite intricate and interesting to study. Features a fine level of detail in the engraving. In VG+ antiquarian condition, with some light foxing/fading to margins (not in the least detracting). Sheets measure c. 10 3/4"H x 8 1/4"W, image areas vary. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
