"Caire," issued in 1683, Paris, by Mallet. An appealing 17th century engraved birds-eye view of Cairo. Incredibly detailed, with countless tiny houses visible- indeed, you can really see the urban plan. In the foreground a procession of people is seen walking away from the city, some on horseback. On the right side is a series of pyramids, so labeled.
In VG+ antiquarian condition, with some "see through" (from text on reverse) which is not detracting visually. Sheet measures c. 5 3/8" W x 8 1/4" H, image area measures c. 4" W x 6 1/2" H.
