"Britannicæ Insulae Ex Aevi Romani Monumentis," issued in 1800, London, by Wilkinson, engraved by E. Bourne. A very beautiful engraved early 19th century map of the British Isles in ancient times including what is now England, Scotland, and Ireland. Gives a number of ancient place names in Latin. Shows major rivers and lakes.
In VG+ antiquarian condition, with two light stains on the engraved area of the map, and some light scattered soiling in top and right margins (not detracting).
With lovely hand color. Sheet measures c. 11 " W x 13 3/4 " H, image area measures c. 8 3/4 " W x 11 1/2 " H.
Rather uncommon and not frequently encountered.
