Architecture, The Doric Order - c.1802
"Architecture, The Doric Order" issued 1802-1809, London, engraved by W. Lowry. A fascinating set of 6 nineteenth-century steel engravings pertaining the study of the Doric Order in Architecture. Each sheet contains renderings of examples of Doric columns, with diagrams of their relationship to the rest of their buildings. One sheet features a very finely engraved rendering of a Doric column, with diagrams of its proportions. A very desirable set of engravings to anyone with an interest in classical architecture. In VG+ antiquarian condition, with some light foxing/fading to margins (not in the least detracting). Sheets measure c. 10 3/4" H x 8 1/4" W, image areas vary. Please note: the sheets are nicely uniform in color and size, although the digital photos seem to suggest otherwise. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
