A fascinating and scarce 17th-century map abundant  with cartographical errors.  The northwestern portion of the Indian subcontinent has been misconstrued as a giant island.  Present-day Thailand also appears rather misshapen, with a misplaced and too large Philippine islands beside it. A huge mythical lake appears in northern India as the source of numerous major rivers.  Title is enclosed within a strapwork cartouche.

In VG+  to near excellent antiquarian condition.  With lovely full hand color.  Original fold lines, as issued.

 Sheet measures c. 11 1/2 " W x 8 1/2" H.  Image area measures c. 10" W x 7" H.
