""Europe," issued c.1735, London, engraved by J. Gibson. An attractive small folio map of Europe from the first half of the 18th century. Features a large lovely strapwork and floral cartouche and a large compass rose.
n VG to VG+ antiquarian condition, with some light offsetting mostly in bottom margins and the Atlantic (not in the least detracting) and a couple of old paper repairs to the reverse which are completely invisible from the front. Original fold lines as issued.
With beautiful full hand color.
Sheet measures c. 14 5/8 " W x 18 1/2 " H, engraved image area measures c. 12 3/4 " W x 13 1/4 " H.
An uncommon map and one which will look great once framed.
