Netherlands - 1734
Note: to view one of 4 available close-ups, click on the area you wish to see."German Le Inferieure, ou Les Dix-sept Provinces des Pays-Bas," issued in 1734, Amsterdam by De Sauzet. What is almost certainly a very uncommon/ rare early 18th- century map of the Netherlands, here referring to the 17 Provinces of the Low Countries. With a charming title cartouche which has a cherub face at the bottom and two griffin bird heads at the top sides. North is depicted to the right, west towards the top. In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition with beautiful hand color. Sheet measures c. 16 " W x 10 1/4 " H, image area measures c. 9 1/2 " W x 8 1/2 " H. Very nice and not easily encountered.
