Mechelen, Belgium - 1711
A lovely hand colored, engraved early 18th-century city plan of Mechelen, or Malines. Features a beautiful pictorial cartouche and cupids flying with the city's coat of arms. Shows the fortified city and the citadel from a birds-eye perspective. Interestingly, churches are simply indicated with a cross. Somewhat uncommon and very appealing visually. In VG++ antiquarian condition. Original fold line as issued. Measures c. 6 1/8" W x 5 7/8 " H. Image measures 6" W x 5" H.
