"Frontispice De l'Encyclopedie," published c. 1780, Paris, engraved by C. Boily. A lovely 18th century engraved atlas frontis depicting a wonderful heavenly scene. Depicts a number of allegorical women (perhaps muses?) with a variety of musical and scientific instruments.
A pleasing level of detail and activity is depicted in this fascinating scene. In VG++ to near excellent antiquarian condition. Measures 8 1/4" W x 12" H. Image measures 6" W x 9" H.
A very nice 19th century engraved view with beautiful, superior hand color, very suitable for framing. A very pleasing engraving.
