An attractive little 17th century engraved view of the city of Spires on the Rhine River in Germany. Mallet was a well traveled military engineer and geographer who worked in 17th century France under King Louis XIV. This
wonderful detailed engraving of this city is from his scarce monumental work
"Description de L'Univers". Certainly by virtue of its date a rather
uncommon view of this city in Germany. In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian
condition. With expert hand coloring. Sheet measures 4 " W x 7 1/8 "
H; engraved image measures 3 5/8" W x 6 " H. Quite a charming 17th
century view by Mallet. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
