"Mexiquains. Habitans des Antiles: issued Lyon (France), 1705 by de la Croix for a very rare geographical grammar. A wonderful early 18th century engraved image of various natives of Mexico and the Antilles (Caribbean islands). Quite charming for it's depiction of a feather skirt and head dress, plus a woman carrying produce in a hand bag.
Beautifully hand colored, in clean excellent condition on a c. 6 1/4 " H x 3 7/8 " W sheet, image area c. 4 3/4 " H x 3 " W.
