Carte de la Perse de la Georgie et de la Tartarie Independante: Issued Paris, c.1780 by R. Bonne, the important French engineer and cartographer (1727-1795) who succeeded J.N.Bellin as Hydrographer at the Depot de la Marine (1773).

An attractive and desirable 18th century map of the region which begins with Armenia and Kurdistan bordering the Black Sea in the East, the land between the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea (Irak-Ajemi, Aderbigan) and continues across including Khorasan, Farsistan, Kerman, Macran, Caboul, Petit Tibet, Independant Tartary to Chinese Tartary. Wonderfully detailed 18th century map of this region colored by the political divisions as they then existed. Many important cities across the area are noted by tiny symbols.

In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition with great visual appeal due to the superior full hand color, on a c. 17 1/8 " W x 10 3/4 " H sheet, image area c. 12 3/4 " W x 8 1/4 " H.  A bit of light marginal dampstaining in the margins of no consequence.
