"India Orientalis Nova" issued 1672, Amsterdam by Cluver.
A charming 17th century miniature Cluver map of SE Asia, India and Australia, with a banner title cartouche and most appealing full hand color. Quite a remarkable way out of proportion depiction of Australia, attached to New Guinea as usual for this date. Nice rendering of much of Japan, Philippines, and Formosa island named. Mythical lake in northern Thailand.
Very appealing visually, in near excellent antiquarian condition on a c. 5 1/4" W x 5 1/8" H sheet, image area c. 4 7/8" W x 4 3/4" H. Beautifully hand colored.
A gem of a map.
