"Gezicht op het Stadhuis langs de noordzyde en van agteren, en op den Onvolbouwden Tooren der Nieuwe Kerke" (view of the City House along the north side and the New Church), issued Amsterdam, 1766 by the prolific and important Isaak Tirion.("Paulus van Liender fec. 1766" at lower left). A wonderful mid-18th century engraved panoramic view looking into Dam square, which can be seen in the background. Dozens of people are seen engaged in a variety of activities, including shining shoes, pushing a wheelbarrow of goods, a horse pulling barrels, a man on horseback, people talking, etc. Beautifully engraved, a very fine image of daily life in Amsterdam in the 18th century on the edge of one of the central squares of the city. In VG++ condition (a bit of minor light staining in the margins of no visual consequence), original fold lines as issued, beautifully hand colored, on a c. 15 3/4" W x 12 1/4" H sheet.
