A very detailed folio sheet, early 19th century engraved map, with countless place names and details not normally encountered on maps of this region. Much more detailed than the photograph reveals. Shows the dated route of Capt. Cook's expedition in 1778 along the coastline of North America.
From the very scarce 1821 issue of this scarce elephant folio atlas.
On an c. 28 " W x 21 1/4 " H sheet, (image size is c. 23 1/8"W x 19 1/4"H). In VG + condition, with a bit of very minimal light offsetting, which has a minimal visual impact. Original hand color.
