"Moos-A-Bec Reach Maine", issued 1879 by the US Government. A wonderfully detailed and very scarce 19th century lithographed coastal chart which has been expertly hand colored. Includes a large inset of "Moos-A-Bec Bar", and dozens of small islands, buoys, points, ledges, etc. are all identified. Endless sounding depths. A scarce nautical map which was printed on a heavier paper than most of the Gov't surveys and is thus ready to frame.
In clean, fine antiquarian cond. with tiny pin holes in the corners as issued which were used by the lithographic workshop to hold the sheet in place for the printing process used. Sheet size (orig. folds as issued) is c. 15 1/8 " H x 22 1/4" W, image area c. 12 7/8" H x 20 1/2 " W.
