A wonderful folio sheet late 19th century map of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean with an exquisite level of detail, including hundreds of place names on the various islands, such as Guadeloupe, St. Christopher, Antiqua, Dominica, etc. From one of Stanford's monumental elephant folio atlases, with full original hand color, including blue in the ocean. An uncommon map.

In excellent, clean antiquarian condition with the slightest hint of centerfold darkening which is lighter than on the digital photo (here due to shadowing) and in no way detracting visually & attractive full hand color. On a c. 29 1/2 ” W x 22 ” H sheet (engraved image size is 23 " x 19 ").
