Lacking title page; published circa 1790.
Bound in a gorgeous, ornately gilt later full leather binding. Signed binding
"L. W." with crown
symbol. Central gilt decoration on boards has been removed. Leather is smooth and supple and gilt
is, overall, bright with just a bit of rubbing in spots.
Pages are gently warped with just a bit of light scattered dampstaining to a handful of pages
(most of which is confined to the margins). We count three fine engraved plates, all well
preserved and attractive. These depict the Jesus' journey to Israel, the Last Supper and the
resurrection of Christ, all engraved by J. B. Scotin. Bookplate of Matias Errazuriz.
History of the ownership is penciled inside.
In Good+ condition. An appealing example of fine binding art; intricately tooled in gilt.
Book measures 5" x 8". Approximately 725 pp.
