A handsome four volume set of mid-19th century black half leather bindings. Decorative spines in six compartments with gilt title and author on contrasting purple leather labels; compartments with central gilt floral devices, raised bands. Black half leather and purple marbled cloth boards. Bindings very tight - appear unopened. Pages edges exhibit soiling which is quite minor.
Mostly clean internally with a little bit of dampstaining confined to a few page edges. Purple endpapers. Text in Spanish. The title pages exhibit an old repair (pages laid down onto older paper when book was rebound). One of the title pages has a light stamp.
In VG+ condition. Fine shelf appearance.
Books measure c. 5 7/8" x 8 1/2".
