A handsome mid- to late 19th century period half leather binding. Decorative spine in five compartments with central gilt devices, gilt title and raised bands. Half leather and brown cloth boards; top board with central gilt title. Leather, overall, gently rubbed. Binding tight and sound. a.e.g.
Mostly very clean internally. Contains thirteen full page engraved illustrations and four full color maps. Blank pages remain blank (no previous owner's notations). Marbled endpapers.
In VG to VG+ clean condition. A lovely example.
Book measures c. 7" x 10". Approximately 500 pp.
