First American Edition from the Fourth London Edition.
A late 18th century full leather binding. Leather, overall, smooth and supple. Board corners gently bumped, corner leather rubbed. Smooth spine in gilt-ruled compartments with gilt title on contrasting red leather label. Binding tight and sound. Steel engraved frontis "Belville dying and
sending his Ring to Isabella, by his page Bertram". Internally foxed; light bit of dampstaining on bottom of frontis and title page.
In Good+ to VG clean condition. A scarce first edition in full period leather.
Book measures c. 4 3/8" x 6 5/8". 285 pp.
