A gorgeous mid-19th century period fine black leather binding. Heavily, ornately gilt boards and spine. Gilt title on spine within red leather flower petal. Gently worn, gilt remains bright and attractive. Binding tight and sound. a.e.g.
Scattered foxing internally. Four chromolithographed plates and seven steel engravings, all with tissue guards. One text page has been removed and is torn into two. Yellow endpapers. Front hinge cracked.
In VG+ condition. A gorgeous example of 19th century fine leather binding.
Book measures c. 7" x 9 1/2". 306 pp.
