A fine early 20th century three-quarter red leather binding. Lovely spine in six compartments with central gilt devices and gilt "Shakespeare"; gilt "1901" near tail. Three-quarter red leather and red cloth boards are ruled in gilt; top board with central gilt logo. Binding tight and sound with minimal wear. t.e.g.
Mostly very clean internally. Frontis with steel engraved frontis portrait of Shakespeare by Marin Diorshout and
R. C. Bell. Inscription on an endpaper. Marbled endpapers.
In VG+ clean condition. An attractive fine red leather binding with an appealing shelf appearance.
Book measures 5 1/2" x 7 1/2". 1312 pp.
