An ornate two volume set of mid-19th century red publisher's cloth bindings. Boards and spines ornately
blind-stamped w/ intricate floral and fleur-dy-lis devices. Spines chipped and ends; joint cloth splitting at ends. Split at center of spine on volume two is not as prominent in person; in fact, it is hardly noticeable. Bindings tight and sound.
Mostly clean internally w/ scattered foxing, light staining to a few pages in volume one. Many fine plates and illustrations.
In VG- to VG condition. A scarce set.
Books measure 5" x 7 1/2". 726 pp.
