A mid-19th century period 1/2 leather binding. Spine in five compartments w/ gilt title and volume number, patterned floral gilt bands. Cloth and leather boards are damp-stained. Binding sound. 

Contains twenty-five steel engraved plates including half title page. Plates depict "Opening of the Sixth Seal", "John Bunyan in Bedford Jail, 1667", view of the Ohio River, Thousand Islands in Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, view of Havana and a view of the Mississippi River. One engraving torn. Plates foxed, scattered damp-staining internally. Front hinge cracked. 

In Good condition, overall. Charming steel engravings. 

Book measures 7" x 10". 568 pp.
