An early to mid-19th century red quarter leather binding. Leather spine is worn, beginning to crack at center. Marbled paper covered boards rubbed, leather worn from corners. Binding sound. 

Scattered foxing throughout w/ twelve charming engraved plates depicting various sites around the northeastern U.S. Plates show "Devil's Pulpit... near Weehawken"; Dismal Swamp, New York; Weehawken; Hudson River; Burgoyne's Surrender; Hadley Falls; Lake George; "View near Ticonderoga"; Trenton Falls; Niagara Falls; and the Boston State House. Signature at center slightly shaken - text block holding firmly. "Map of White Mountains and Vicinity" pasted down on inside front board. Old inscription on f.f.e. Hinges cracked. 

In VG condition, complete w/ engravings. 

Book measures c. 4" x 6". 448 pp.
