Massive heavy two volume set in period 3/4 leather publishers bindings, gilt title on front boards and spines, raised bands in six compartments, profusely illustrated with hundreds of views, including 55 original steel engravings.
In VG+ condition, gently worn, bindings sound, hinges tight, internally mostly very clean with just a touch of minor light foxing in some margins, frontis engravings in each volume moderately foxed. Only minimal light scuffing to bindings, some slight darkening at bottom of spines.
Each volume measures c. 10 1/2" W x 13" H. volume 1: 567 pages, volume 2:576 pages.
