An ornately gilt and embossed five volume set of late 19th century brown cloth bindings. Smooth spines are ornately gilt and embossed in black w/ title; top boards similarly designed. Bindings are tight and sound w/ minimal wear. a.e.g.
Internally clean and profusely illustrated w/ steel engravings, lithographs and text illustrations throughout. We count sixty lovely steel engraved plates depicting the art of the 19th century; engravings from the Hess Press, each seemingly attributed to a different engraver.
In all, a fine, clean complete five volume set, profusely illustrated w/ fine steel engravings.
Books measure c. 10 1/4" x 13."
