Full year, 1860. Volumes thirty-seven and thirty-eight A nice publishers mid-19th century period 1/4 leather binding. Gilt title and year on spine w/ gilt-ruled raised bands, leather gently rubbed along spine extremities. Half leather and marbled paper covered boards are mostly clean w/ some wear, corners gently bumped. Binding tight and sound. Mostly clean internally w/ many steel-engraved plates, including several hand-colored fashion plates. We see nine hand colored fashion plates (the ones w/ the ladies), the months January, July and October do not have the fashion plates preceding the issues; a couple of folding plates - one large hand colored folding plate, "Pattern for Slipper" measures c. 9 3/8" x 11 1/2" and suffers a slit along one fold line but easily repairable; and numerous chromolithographed pattern pages. A couple of pages are detached at the very beginning of the volume, pages are not yellowed as the photos would indicate (this is caused simply by our editing).
