Period full calf binding.  Smooth, gilt ruled spine with contrasting red leather title label, gilt title. Mostly minimal leather wear, one well sized old scar as seen in photo which extends across middle of the spine to the rear board.  Still, text block is tight, mild scattered foxing throughout. A major work of scholarship and a scarce American edition.

Book measures c. 6 1/4" W x 9 1/2" H.   432 pp.
