Lettres de Madame Roland - 1867
In Two Volumes. A handsome two volume set of matching mid-19th century red half leather bindings. Spines in five compartments, gilt title and volume w/ central gilt devices, raised bands; leather only slightly rubbed at spine ends - a highly appealing shelf appearance. Some light scuffing and edgewear. Bindings tight and sound. Red speckled edges. Mostly clean internally. Frontis in volume one depicts Mrs. Roland; frontis in volume two depicts "Maison de M. Philipon, Pere de Mme Roland, sur le pont neuf" and "Plan de L'appartement de M. Philipon" w/ the latter being a floor plan. Binder's sticker, "Eusebe Senegal & Fils, Imprimeurs et Relieurs - 20 Rue St. Vincent - Montreal". Text in French. In all, an attractive two volume set of 19th century red leather bindings.
