Holy Bible - 1811
Uncontinuous pagination. A large early 19th century period full calf binding. Spine in six compartment with gilt-ruled raised bands, patterned gilt-ruled red leather title label; leather is chipped at spine ends and the gilt and leather, overall, gently rubbed but the gilt title remains bright. Boards are mostly clean with edgewear, bumped corners and leather frayed at corners, the leather is, in all, smooth and supple. Front board is loose but remains attached. Binding and text block are tight and sound. Text block exhibits dampstaining and age-toning. Family history pages are blank. Maps are missing. In all, a good example of this large early 19th century family Bible in period leather. Full of much reference material as is typical for the large King James Bibles of this vintage. Book measures c. 11 1/4" H x 9". Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
