An embossed early 20th century publisher's period green/gray cloth binding. Gilt title and author on smooth spine, central embossed lion's head; cloth spine ends and gilt are very gently rubbed with a tiny split to the cloth at spine head. Boards are mostly clean and exhibit minimal shelfwear, title, author and design of a moose's mounted head are embossed in black and yellow on the top board. Binding is tight and sound.

Text block is mostly very clean with a profusion of b&w illustrations throughout the text, including 24 plates. Frontis, with tissue guard, depicts "Head of Royal Bengal Tiger. Mounted by the Author".

In VG+ antiquarian condition, a nice and very clean early 20th century binding. A thorough approach to taxidermy.

Book measures c. 8 3/4" H x 6 3/8".   364 pp.
