Undated 19th century accordion style souvenir photographic album, issued c. 1865-80, likely 1870's. Small original 19th century blue/ white sticker of selling shop "A. Riveng- Geneve" on rear paste-down. With 10 charming original albumen photographs of the city, including panoramic views, important buildings, and monuments. Several of the images have numerous people in them. Images remain mostly clean, each is titled below in French. One photo is creased down the middle and a few have a touch of light scattered foxing. Original cloth attaches the images to each other on the reverse.
Original purple colored embossed cloth folder is clean, with gilt stamped title on front board. Well preserved, nice, and clearly not common. Experience handling 19th century albumen city albums has taught us that the photos they contain are very often variants to albums which might at first glance appear to be identical, since new negatives were continually being integrated into the printing/ production process of the publisher.
Book measures c. 3" H x 4 1/2". When opened, the run of 10 photos is c.40 " long.
