A charming oblong early 20th century pictorial hardcover. Green cloth spine frayed a little at ends. Color illustration on front board depict the Pied Piper piping to an audience of a lame boy with crutches and a rat; boards lightly soiled with edgewear but the front board colors remain vivid. Boards slightly loose from text block but still holding firm.
Light, even age-toning and soiling within the margins but, actually, this fragile children's book is quite well preserved and mostly clean. Many full page color lithographs opposite text throughout and several smaller line drawings within the text. Endpapers chipped and bookplate, "Notice! Elizabeth Allen Owns this Book", on inside front board.
In all, a fantastic and well preserved illustrated children's classic.
Book measures c. 8 1/4" H x 10 3/4". Unpaginated.
