In an Italian 19th century 1/2 leather binding, likely original from the publisher or contemporary to the publication. Some light rubbing and wear, but overall binding remains tight and sound- leather is supple. Mostly very clean internally- plates are very clean and bright. With a profusion of "high-key" chromolithographic plates of Roman Pontiffs arranged one page of brief biographical text followed by a color plate, throughout to a total of 263 numbered chromo plates.
Book measures c. 10 1/2" H x 7 3/4". 310 pp.
Appears to be a rare 19th century Italian color plate book, as a global search on addall.com turned up no matches Very heavy- will cost $10 to ship within the US.
