And also, The Closet Companion, or an help to serious persons in the duty of self examination."  71 pp. 2 Chapbooks bound together with a contiguous pagination.

An early (original) 19th century printed paper wraps over cardboard binding. Full title information printed on front wrap, publisher information of Oliver D. Cooke on rear; wraps very slightly age-toned but, overall, really in a well preserved and clean condition. Still bound tightly. Wood engraved frontis depicts a person lying in bed. Three full title pages, including full title page on wrap showing all three title contained. Other title pages are as follows:

"The Pious Parent's Gift or A Plain and Familiar Sermon, wherein the principles of the Christian religion , are proposed, and clearly represented to the minds of children. Each part of which is accompanied with select verses. From the Works of Dr Watts." by William Mason. Hartford: O. D. Cooke, 1815

"The Closet Companion, or an help to serious persons in the duty of self examination. Intended to be kept in the Christian's usual place of retirement, in order to remind him of, as well as to assist him in, the work." Hartford: O. D. Cooke, 1815
