A handsome late 19th century period binding with leather spine. Spine in six compartments by raised bands, central floral gilt devices, gilt title information on two contrasting leather title labels; gilt gently rubbed yet bright, leather very gently rubbed at spine head and tail and bands. Marble paper covered boards bright and clean, exhibit edgewear. Binding tight and sound. Edges marbled.
Mostly clean internally with foxing exhibited on only several pages (endpapers mostly). Frontis is full page steel engraved portrait. Text in French.
Quite an attractive and uncommon late 19th century book.
Book measures c. 7 1/8" H x 4 3/4".
